The Berlin-based communication specialist AVM is expanding its commitment to the field of LTE. After the successful launch of the first FRITZ!Box LTE, AVM will be presenting two new FRITZ!Box models for LTE mobile telephony at the Cebit trade fair. The FRITZ!Box 6842 LTE and FRITZ!Box 6810 LTE both feature a new, elegant design developed especially for use with LTE. The new LTE models unite all the key functions necessary for communication in one device: LTE telephony, WLAN N, Ethernet connection, phone and DECT base station. The fixed line is no longer needed because voice over LTE is a further feature of the new FRITZ!Box models. The FRITZ!Box 6810 is to go on sale in the second quarter of the year, while the FRITZ!Box 6842 is to be launched in the third quarter.

Both products making their debut at Cebit, the FRITZ!Box 6842 LTE and the FRITZ!Box 6810 LTE, support the 800 MHz and 2.6 GHz bands. The FRITZ!Box 6842 LTE is also the first device to support the 1.8 GHz band. With their integrated 3G LTE, throughputs of up to 100 Mbit/s are possible in downstream and up to 50 Mbit/s in upstream. Alongside WLAN N, the new FRITZ!Box 6842 LTE also offers four LAN ports, a USB port, phone socket and DECT base station – enabling optimum performance for your home network and Internet via LTE mobile telephony. In addition, it has an analog interface for existing phones or fax machines. The smaller FRITZ!Box 6810 LTE is an ideal entry-level product with DECT, WLAN N and an Ethernet connection. All FRITZ!Box LTE models also feature an integrated DECT base station for up to six cordless phones. DECT enables the use of all telephony features that LTE offers as the NGN (Next Generation Network), including HD telephony, so that a fixed line becomes superfluous. The new FRITZ!Box models mean you can also take advantage of the LTE connection for data applications and telephony when using your smartphone at home.
